The brand was started by Ignacio Larranaga in 1834 on premises situated at 58 San Miguel Street in Havana. By the time of the Cuban Revolution they were the 6th largest brand of Havanas.  Sadly, they are not as well known today, and production is limited to four vitolas, but moves are afoot to revive this once-famous brand.  The Picadores ceased production in the 70's but has been recentley released as a line that's exclusive to La Casa del Habanos and Havana Cigar Specialists.  Measuring 5" with a 48-ring gauge this is is a perfect introductory cigar for those wishing to aquaint themselves with the world of Habanos.  Light and a little floral this Por Larranaga Picadores is easy to enjoy, there's plenty of creamy smoke with a well balanced flavour.  So if youv'e got about 45 minutes to walk the dog this would be the perfect companion.
