In the Condega region of Nicaragua the Plasencia family own a farm, Finca San Julián which stands 1300 metres above sea level. The tobacco plants grown here benefit from more sunlight and cooler temperatures which in turn affects their characteristics giving a unique flavour profile. Alma Del Cielo translates to "Soul of Heaven" in english and this new line from Plasencia cigars is really interesting. The Amanecer is a hexagon shaped cigar 6" x 60 gauge that should last a minimum of 90 minutes and probably a bit more, so take your time don't rush. It's a medium bodied cigar producing loads of creamy smoke, a complex array of flavours including cocaa, almonds and cedar mingle to produce a medium strength flavour bomb that gradually evolves with earthy notes and nougat appearing as you smoke down. The Plasencia family claim this series to embody their principles of sustainable farming practices. A cigar for those seeking something different.
